Why Give to Yad Chessed

Yad Chessed depends entirely on the generosity of private donations and foundations to run our program. Every dollar you give is a lifeline, enabling us to serve as a vital safety net for Jewish individuals and families across Massachusetts facing financial hardship and food insecurity. Your contributions allow us to provide essential support, compassionate guidance, and meaningful connections to our vibrant and caring Jewish community. Yad Chessed also offers the opportunity to fulfill the foundational mitzvot (good deeds) of chessed (loving kindess) and tzedakah (social justice/charity). With deep gratitude, we thank you for your generosity and commitment to those in need.

When to Give

When to Give

Your gifts make a difference every day of the year. Donate to honor loved ones, commemorate a Yahrtzeit, or mark special milestones like birthdays, b’nai mitzvah, weddings or anniversaries. Celebrate Jewish holidays by fulfilling mitzvot such as Matanot LaEvyonim (gifts for people in need) on Purim, Maot Chitim (wheat money) before Passover, or by sponsoring holiday meals. Your support brings joy and care to our community year-round.

Give Your Time

Volunteers are essential to our mission. Whether assisting in our Newton office, sharing your expertise, or helping deliver meals for Hanukkah and Shavuot, your time and talents make a difference.
